Education:
Education gets tossed around in a manner, that just walks in circles. Our political party believes that everyone should have their choice of education. Whether that means choosing a school of a slower paced, easier level or a fast paced, more difficult level everyone should have their own decision. Students and families should not have to pay more just for a better education. All students should receive the same education. This could mean that there is a nation wide standardized test that all students must be able to pass with a proficient or above. There should not be a school that is making students 30% more educated from the school across the street. It is necessary that no matter what school a student goes to they are getting a decent education. One that they can build a life out of. Teachers who are not doing there job, are being hurtful to students, or not providing a standard education, should not be allowed in the workforce. Students and their parents need to be more involved with their school life. If this means that the parent comes in to talk with the teacher about how to give their child more support at home, then that is what is needed to be done. If a student is not mature enough or not passing a class then they should not be able to move onto the next grade level. The student will need to get tutoring, summer help, etc. in order to pass the next year.
Teachers
Teachers should not be allowed to stay in the work force if they are not doing their job of providing a good education and supplying a good environment.
Public vs. Private
No one should have to pay just to get a better education. All schools should be standardized and equal in quality.
Student/Parent Focus
The whole family should be involved in school life. THis is not to say that this should be the only thing that the family focuses on, but more students need support at their homes, a place where they can ask for help.
Advancing Through Grades
If a student is not ready to move on to the next grade they will be held back. The student will not move on unless they are passing. The student would get up to the standard level before moving on.
